Access Pathways
All Social Work pathways lead to the same qualification.
It is the choice of Modules which results in your specialism.
Part 1 - Core Modules must be taken as part of a full Access course.
Part 2 - Psychology you must take a minimum of 12 Credits.
Part 3 - Social Work you must take a minimum of 15 Credits.
Once you have made up the required Credits from Parts 1, 2 & 3 you can select further options from Part 4.
Access to Social Work
Access to Higher Education Diploma (Social Work). This page lists the recommended modules for the Social Work pathway.
If you complete a work placement you must have a CRB check before you start. This must be undertaken by DLC and may take up to 6 weeks. You will need to arrange this through your tutor and it will incur an additional charge.
You must follow the rules of combination for the Modules listed below. Your tutor will check your choices at enrolment to ensure the combination you have selected is a valid one. We encourage you to discuss possible changes to your original choices with your tutor as you progress through the course. Download the Course Handbook to find out more about the contents of each Module.
If you do not wish to take a full Access Diploma (60 Credits) you may pick any of the modules and these can be added to any existing Access Credits you already have. Upon completion of the assessments you will be awarded a certificate for the credits you achieve.
Only 60 Credits will be shown on your Access Diploma Certificate. If, for any reason, your selected Higher Education Institution requires more than the national 60 Credits standard, additional Credits you achieve will be shown on a separate Certificate.
